Terms of Service

Article 1. Purpose
Section titled “Article 1. Purpose”These Terms set out the conditions of use, the rights and obligations, the license policy, and the payment and contact procedures for the World Note program and related services provided by the maker of World Note (the “Maker,” “we,” or “us”).
Article 2. What the service is
Section titled “Article 2. What the service is”World Note is a creative-support tool for building and managing the maps, places, regions, documents, and reference material of an imagined world. Its main features include:
- Automatic map generation
- Organizing the places and regions of your world
- Placing markers and creating regions
- Linking between documents
- Styling your map
Article 3. Use and saving
Section titled “Article 3. Use and saving”World Note is free to download and use. The free version lets you try every feature, but saving your work requires purchasing or activating a license through an in-app purchase.
Article 4. License policy
Section titled “Article 4. License policy”World Note is licensed on a one-license-per-person basis.
A personal license may be used only by the individual who purchased or backed it. If several users, such as a team, studio, or company, use World Note, a license must be purchased or backed for each actual user.
The right to use the software, activation keys, and account information may not be transferred, shared, lent, or resold.
Article 5. Copyright and intellectual property
Section titled “Article 5. Copyright and intellectual property”The copyright and intellectual property rights in the World Note program, service, UI, features, logo, name, and related materials belong to the Maker.
You hold only the right to use World Note under these Terms; you do not acquire any copyright in or ownership of the program itself.
Article 6. Rights in the work you create
Section titled “Article 6. Rights in the work you create”The rights in the maps, reference documents, worldbuilding material, and other works you create with World Note belong to you.
You may freely use the works you create with World Note in both personal and commercial projects. However, reproducing, distributing, or selling the World Note program itself, its templates, UI, systems, source code, or any proprietary assets provided by the Maker, without authorization, is prohibited.
Article 7. Prohibited conduct
Section titled “Article 7. Prohibited conduct”You must not:
- Share a license, activation key, or account information with others
- Transfer, lend, or resell a license or account information
- Copy, distribute, modify, or reverse-engineer the program without authorization
- Use World Note within a team, studio, or company with fewer licenses than actual users
- Interfere with the operation of the service or access it by abnormal means
- Infringe the Maker’s copyright or the rights of any third party
Article 8. Payments and refunds
Section titled “Article 8. Payments and refunds”World Note’s saving feature and paid features may be provided through in-app purchases.
Payments, refunds, and withdrawal of purchase follow the policies of the app store, platform, or payment method through which you paid. Where a separate refund is required, the Maker handles it in accordance with applicable law and platform policy.
Article 9. Changes to and suspension of the service
Section titled “Article 9. Changes to and suspension of the service”The Maker may change or discontinue part or all of the service to improve features, fix errors, strengthen security, or as operationally necessary.
When there is a significant change, we will give notice through the website or in-app announcements as far as reasonably possible.
Article 10. Limitation of liability
Section titled “Article 10. Limitation of liability”The Maker strives to provide a stable service but is not responsible for damages arising from causes beyond the Maker’s control, such as your usage environment, device condition, network problems, or outages of external platforms.
You are responsible for keeping separate backups of important work and data.
Article 11. Changes to these Terms
Section titled “Article 11. Changes to these Terms”The Maker may revise these Terms when necessary. Revised Terms are announced through the official website or in-app notices, and continuing to use the service after such notice is deemed acceptance of the revised Terms.
